Brechin Castle Gardens open under the ‘Scotland’s Gardens’ scheme (the famous ‘Yellow Book’) and a proportion of the proceeds are kindly donated to the Unicorn Preservation Society.  There will also be a ‘Unicorn’ souvenir stall.

The dances are all the classics, with just one less common dance, The Diamond Jubilee, which we couldn’t miss out!  It’s an easy jig, slightly similar to Posties Jig, and a set of instructions can be downloaded from the Summer Ball web page.

HM Frigate Unicorn extends a  ‘WELCOME ABOARD’ to CANTAMUS, a small vocal group of around 10-12 singers, whose aim is to present vocal and choral music of all genres.

In 2011 – their first year of existence – CANTAMUS gave four concerts, and raised over £1500 for various charities. In 2012 CANTAMUS already have eight concerts in the diary in venues including Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse, Birkhill Castle, Leuchars St Athernase and other local churches.  In April this year they are coming to Unicorn!

Tickets are just £6.00, including light refreshment.

Derek will give us the inside story behind the Yacht’s recent docking, together with a fascinating ‘behind the scenes’ look at the problems of keeping one of the most famous and recognisable ships in the world in tip-top condition for visitors.   Derek Miller has a distinguished background in naval engineering having worked in the Naval Base at Rosyth, so you can expect a lively and highly informative talk.  Click here for further information.
